Births are truly my passion. Watching people become parents is an amazing gift, and giving them the photos of it is even better. These are photos that you simply wouldn't get unless you have a birth photographer. Let your spouse/birth coach be by your side supporting you through labor, doing everything for you that you need. Leave the camera to me. =)
Like a majority of photographers, I was first inspired when I became a mom to my oldest son Logan. It wasn't until after the birth of my second son Owen when I decided to pursue newborns as my specialty. Birth photography was something I had no intention of getting into, but became intrigued with it after meeting my friend Lindsey (as in Lindsey Scholz. You know, that crazy amazing birth photographer in Ohio). Seeing her welcome these beautiful little souls into the world pulled at my heart in a way that really only a mother knows. I soon booked my first "portfolio building" birth, and man, it hit me like a ten pound sack of taters. It was the most amazing thing I had ever seen, and I was hooked. This industry has brought me more stress than most would care to admit, but it's also taught me a ton about myself, as well as introduced me to some pretty amazing people, clients and fellow photogs alike.
Hmm, what else about me? I am obsessed with movies. Like, all movies. Love them. I shoot Canon. I have Mt. Dew pumping in my veins. I am an overprotective mama bear to my two little boys. My husband is my rock, without whom I don't think I ever could have gotten where I am now. He plays the part of supporting spouse well. I love chocolate and spicy food, but not necessarily at the same time.
Last but not least, I absolutely love what I do. I truly feel blessed to work with these beautiful little ones, either by welcoming them into the world, or just snuggling with them later in life (sometime in the first 14 days to be exact).
